The website TheDailyMeal.com has put together a list of the 25 best restaurants in Italy. In a country full of incredible eateries, surely it is daunting task to even consider such a list. The editors came up with the list after a two-month nomination process which produced a list of 100 restaurants that they then shared with a panel of restaurant critics, food writer and bloggers. Here are some of the ones that made the final list of 25:
Acquolina in Rome: “Angelo Troiani’s place in Flaminio by the Grand Hotel Fleming outside the city center features the fare of chef Giulio Terrinoni, whose on-point seafood speaks for itself.”
L’Etoile d’Or in Catania: “Open 24 hours a day, L’Etoile d’Or isn’t really a restaurant, but rather a traditional, low-key Sicilian bar with standout regional snacks like arancini rag (rice balls stuffed with meat) and cartocciata (a calzone-type savory treat), as well as some of the best sweet ricotta-filled cannoli in Italy all of which help keep L’Etoile d’Or packed day and night with locals.”
